Coming soon to iPhone

Know where your month stands. Keep records you can hand to SSA.

CapGauge is a simple work log for people on SSDI who drive or shop for DoorDash, Uber, Instacart, and similar apps. Tap Start when your shift begins. CapGauge keeps your hours, miles, and net earnings in one place, and shows estimates for the month next to SSA’s published figures.

How it works

Three steps. No bank logins, no account to create.

  1. Start your shift

Tap Start shift when you go online. A timer runs and, if you allow it, your miles are logged too. Tap Stop when you are done.

  2. Add what you earned

Enter your pay for the shift and any expenses. CapGauge estimates net earnings: gross pay minus expenses, including mileage.

  3. See the month, share the report

Your monthly view shows hours and estimated net earnings next to SSA’s published figures. One tap creates an SSA-820-style summary of your records to bring to SSA or a benefits counselor.

Your shift, location, mileage, and earnings records stay on your iPhone. See the privacy policy.

The SSA figures CapGauge shows

CapGauge compares your own records with figures SSA publishes each year. Amounts below are monthly, for 2026, as published by SSA. Figures as of November 1, 2026.

CapGauge also marks 45 hours in a month, because SSA’s self-employment report form (SSA-820) groups monthly hours as under 45, 45 to under 80, and 80 or more. The TWP does not apply to SSI.
